Flying to Kona

Fly into Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (KOA) on the Big Island's west coast. Direct flights run daily from most major West Coast cities—about 5 hours from LAX. Hawaiian Airlines, United, Alaska, Southwest, and American all serve KOA with nonstop routes.

Coming from the East Coast or internationally? Connect through Honolulu (HNL) with a short 40-minute inter-island hop. From KOA, the Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa is just a 15-minute drive south along the coast—about 7 miles. Book early. January is peak season on the Big Island.
